University of St.Gallen (HSG) joins the faculty of the Swiss Finance Institute

The faculty of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) is considered as one of the world's leading research institutions in the field of financial research. With the support of Swiss banks, SFI plays a significant role in strengthening the scientific knowledge base of the Swiss financial center. SFI faculty is composed of renowned professors from the Universities of Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Zurich, as well as from ETH Zurich and EPFL, who conduct research on finance-related issues. The University of St.Gallen (HSG) has now joined this research group.

In the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) faculty, the Swiss financial industry has a renowned think tank with global appeal. SFI faculty, which is composed of renowned professors from the Universities of Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Zurich, as well as ETH Zurich and EPFL, acts in the interest of the Swiss financial sector by contributing to growing the expertise of Switzerland’s financial industry through up-to-date financial research. Now, the University of St.Gallen (HSG), another renowned Swiss teaching and research institution, has joined the SFI faculty. In so doing, HSG ideally complements and completes the existing circle of researchers thanks to its focus on impact-oriented cutting-edge research.

With HSG joining our ranks, we gain additional expertise and skills, which allows us to further strengthen the academic foundations of the Swiss financial center," comments Prof. François Degeorge, Managing Director of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI), on the new addition. Prof. Thomas Zellweger, Vice-Rector Research & Faculty at the University of St.Gallen, adds: " Financial research is one of the top priorities at HSG, which is why we are very much looking forward to our collaboration with SFI. Our collaboration will help us to further expand our internationally significant position in this field."
