Dr. Markus P.H. Bürgi

Dr. Markus P.H. Bürgi is Chief Financial and Operating Officer of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI). He holds a Master's degree in Banking and Finance and completed his PhD—in the fields of banking regulation, contingent capital, and information economics—at the University of Zurich. Earlier in his career, Markus Bürgi was in charge of several SFI professional- and management-level education offerings and worked for a major Swiss bank in the field of fixed income analysis. As a city councilor and Head of the Education Department of the city of Adliswil, he also employs his in-depth experience in finance for the public good.
