This SFI Master Class is organized in collaboration with the Geneva Financial Center Foundation (FGPF).

Objectives

This course offers financial professionals practical insights into the strategic and operational potential of disruptive technologies and provides an applied introduction to blockchain-based finance, with a focus on smart contracts and decentralized finance (DeFi).

The transformative effects of blockchain technology on financial services, as well as the associated opportunities and challenges, will be discussed. Participants will gain practical insights into smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), explore how blockchain data can be analyzed, and examine smart contract-based financial protocols. Through practical demonstrations, they will see how digital tokens are developed and how features such as transfer restrictions and compliance logic can be integrated.

By the end of the course, participants will have a better understanding of the mechanics of blockchain-based financial systems and how smart contracts can be applied in practice.

Practitioners will share their experience with the application of digital assets in financial services and provide insights into the use of tokenization, including its implications for compliance.
