Markus Benzler

Markus Benzler is the Founder of Carmark Invest GmbH.

Prior to founding Carmark Invest, he headed the Multi-Managers Private Equity (MMPE) team within Real Estate & Private Markets (REPM) at UBS Asset Management. In this role, he was responsible for investment selection and portfolio management across several diversified global private equity mandates, as well as UBS Asset Management’s private equity fund-of-funds businesses. His investment activities spanned venture capital, growth capital, buyouts, and special situations, executed through primary investments, secondaries, and co-investments across North America, Europe, and APAC.

Markus also served as Chairman of the Multi-Managers Private Equity Investment Committee and as a voting member of the Multi-Managers Infrastructure Investment Committee.

He joined UBS in 2005 as an investment selection analyst for Private Equity.

Before UBS, Markus worked for six years at Bain & Company in Munich, where he led and contributed to a broad range of projects, primarily in private equity, banking, and industrial sectors. His work included commercial due diligence for PE funds, corporate strategy development, company restructuring, and operational improvement initiatives.
