Research Interests
My research interests are in empirical corporate finance, focusing on how politically determined, evolving business rules reshape corporate governance, financing, and innovation. This matters because modern industrial policy now helps determine who gets funded, on what terms, and which technologies scale. My job market paper shows that venture capital firms hire former government officials to translate policy into strategy, enabling startups to secure federal awards and stronger follow-on financing. In other work, I examine climate litigation as a source of involuntary disclosure and the ECB’s corporate sector purchase program as an anchor investor demand shock affecting pricing and issuance.
